This informative presentation will examine how the messenger system interacts with the neuroendocrine-immune system. The NF-kB vicious cycle, IL-6, IL-17, and TGF-beta will also be discussed in relation to inflammatory response and the development of autoimmunity. A literature review of the signaling systems’ role in maintaining the integrity of the cardiovascular system, mucosal tight junctions, blood-brain barrier, intestinal immunity, neurological system, joints, and maintaining normal weight will be presented.
